This September, Wisconsin’s WIDA released a draft version of the English Language Development Standards, 2012 Edition, Kindergarten through Grade Twelve. Please try to look over the draft before our open comment period ends on November 11.

You can view the draft at http://wida.us/standards/elp.aspx#2012.

The feedback surveys will only take a few minutes of your time, but your thoughts are priceless to WIDA. You can find the open comment box and survey links here: http://wida.us/standards/elp.aspx#2012.

Those who have reviewed the documents have had this to say:

"It appears to be a much more user friendly format."

"The new version of the WIDA [standards] has already given me ideas on how to come up with something mainstream teachers will be interested in doing and applying."

"I liked that you linked them to the national standards that our state has adopted."

WIDA loves this feedback, but they need constructive criticism and fresh ideas as well, so please consider taking the surveys or submitting a comment about the 2012 Edition of the WIDA ELD Standards. The open comment period ends in just a few days!
